shrinkURL for iPhone
My first iPhone application and nothing more than a short project to get to grips with Objective C, XCode and the iPhone SDK.
At the time of development none of the twitter clients for iPhone/iPod had the ability to insert a cut down URL when posting tweets, hence where the idea came from.
The main idea for this application was to quickly produce a shortened URL on the iPhone by reading the clipboard upon launch and automatically converting and pasting back the shortened URL to the clipboard for use in other applications.
There were other functions I had considered for future releases (in app tweeting etc) but decided against any further development (at least for now) seeing that all twitter clients seem to have this functionality built right in and do a great job of it too.
On 29th April 2010 I turned shrinkURL into a Universal App, making it available for iPad too.
